Travel safely
The safety of our students is of the utmost importance when travelling to and from Brockington College, whatever form of transport they use. If your child is walking or cycling, please ensure that they are familiar with local pedestrian crossings and follow the safest routes to school. We encourage all parents and carers to regularly discuss safe travel routines, especially around busy roads near the college.
Every student represents Brockington College from the moment they leave home in the morning until they return at the end of the day. Our uniform is highly recognisable, and the way our students conduct themselves in the community directly reflects the standards and values of the school. We expect students to be polite, considerate, and respectful at all times, understanding that their actions influence how the college is perceived by others.
This responsibility extends beyond the school gates and normal hours. Even when not in uniform, or outside evenings and weekends, students may face consequences from the college if their behaviour brings the school into disrepute, such as through misbehaviour or public order offences. As a college, we take our role in the community extremely seriously and expect our students to uphold the highest standards.
Respect, one of our eight core values, underpins this expectation. Respect enables us to live as an effective, democratic society where all voices are heard, even when views differ. By showing dignity, kindness and care to others, students follow the example of Jesus, who treated all people with value and compassion. In this way, our students demonstrate what it means to truly learn to live life to the full both inside and outside of school.
