Examinations

GCSE Certificates

GCSE certificates are available for collection from the school office between 10am and 3.30pm each day. These need to be collected from students in person, or by someone else on their behalf. If someone else is collecting the certificates, they must have a note of authorisation from the student and be able to prove their identity with photographic ID.

Brockington College will only retain certificates for a limited period and any certificates unclaimed after two years will be destroyed.

Mock Examinations

Mock examinations are an important part of preparing for GCSEs. They give students the chance to experience exam conditions, practise effective revision strategies, and identify areas of strength as well as topics that may need further work. Mocks also provide teachers with valuable information about progress, enabling us to offer targeted support and guidance in the run-up to the final exams.

Now that the mock examinations have taken place, students should take time to reflect carefully on their results and feedback. The most important step is to use this experience as a learning opportunity:

  • Review marked papers and teacher comments to understand mistakes and misconceptions

  • Identify priority topics and build them into a structured revision plan

  • Make use of the resources and support available in school, including revision sessions, study guides and online tools

  • Speak to subject teachers if you are unsure about how to improve in a particular area

Mock exams are not the end of the journey, but an essential stepping stone. By acting on the feedback now, students can approach their final examinations with greater confidence, resilience and a clear plan for success.
