CoPE – Certificate of Personal Effectiveness
The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) is a nationally recognised qualification designed to help students in Years 10 and 11 develop the personal, social and employability skills they need for life beyond school. It is a broad and practical course that allows learners to build confidence, independence and resilience in real-life contexts.
The course helps students to:
-
Develop and demonstrate a wide range of personal, key and employability skills
-
Broaden their experiences through varied challenges and activities
-
Take greater responsibility for their own learning and personal growth
To achieve the qualification, students must plan, organise and complete a series of projects and challenges. They provide evidence of working with others, improving their own learning and performance, problem solving, research, discussion and presentation.
Throughout the course, students also strengthen their skills in maths, English and IT. They build a portfolio of evidence and complete a range of key skills challenges to achieve the Level 1 award.
CoPE not only equips students with essential skills for education and employment, but also helps them to grow as confident, capable young people who are ready to succeed in the wider world.
