The Local Governing Committee
Brockington College is one of ten constituent academies within Embrace Multi Academy Trust, which formed on 1 April 2019.
Each academy in the trust has a local governing committee. View the 2025-26 Brockington College Local Governing Committee and Scheme of Delegation.
Local governors play a vital role in the leadership of Brockington College. The standard term of office for a local governor is four years, providing continuity and stability, while the chair and vice chair are elected annually at the first meeting of each academic year.
The full Local Governing Committee meets six times a year. These meetings are a key part of the school’s leadership and accountability structure, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of our students, staff and community.
The committee has three core strategic functions:
-
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction – helping to shape and safeguard the Christian vision and values of the school, and guiding its long-term development
-
Holding the Principal to account – monitoring the educational performance of the school and its students, as well as supporting and challenging the performance management of staff
-
Overseeing financial performance – ensuring that the school’s budget is well managed, that resources are used efficiently, and that public money is spent wisely for the benefit of all students
Through this work, governors provide both support and challenge, helping Brockington College to flourish and to ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn to live life to the full.
