The careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) programme at Brockington College plays a vital role in preparing our young people for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. Our programme is designed to be progressive from Year 7 through to Year 11, giving students the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to make informed choices at 14–16 and beyond.
We aim to raise aspirations, challenge stereotypes and open students’ eyes to the wide range of pathways available to them. Through high-quality careers education and guidance, we encourage every student to explore their interests, develop their talents and work towards courses or careers that inspire them.
Careers education is delivered mainly through PSHCE lessons, supported by a wide range of extra-curricular activities, employer encounters and enrichment opportunities. This ensures students not only learn about careers in the classroom but also experience real-world contexts that help bring their learning to life.
We regularly evaluate the impact of our CEIAG programme against the Gatsby Benchmarks for good careers education, ensuring that we meet national standards and continually strengthen the support we provide for our students’ futures.
